A nice relaxed whisky that should be slowly enjoyed for its subtle complexity and overall character. A full bodied Whisky that gets better with each sip.

Glen – 78

An easy drinking straightforward dram that came off nice enough. Not to complex and a little thin and bitter on the finish. This is an older Benriach and was bottled before the new ownership took over. Today Benriach is turning out exciting new expressions but this relic from that past is still pleasant and worth a pull. Has a nice nose but it doesn't follow through to the finish.

Nose: Malt, fresh, cut grass, heather
Body: surprisingly chewy
Finish: Medium length, butterscotch, bitter, warming

Straightforward.

Glen – 88

A wonderful dram with amazing depth and character. Smokey for a Speyside with hints of malt, spices and honey. A winner from this newly independent distillery. A little pricey but worth every penny. 

Jeff – 85

Well balanced despite that strong peat taste. This is an interesting dram, I must say I think I would enjoy it more if it had a different name. I find myself comparing it to the 16 which is really not fair.

Glen – 84

Heavily peated but not over done. Has a great balance of sweetness and peat. A truly unique Speyside that's worth discovering.

Glen – 70

A Speyside trying it's hardest to be and Islay and falling way short. A one trick pony that was all smoke and peat but had no sweetness to balance things out. A tough one.

Nose: Smoke, peat, gauze, iodine, dry packaged cake mix
Body: Medium
Finish: Medium length, dry ash, peat, smoke, gauze aftertaste

All smoke and peat but not in a good way
