A whisky man’s whisky. Another Speyside, this is a wonderful dram for people who really appreciate whisky. The nose starts out pretty strong and grassy, but quickly morphs into a cereal grain maltiness, with vanilla, nougat, and definite milk chocolate notes. It has a hot, medium, slightly chewy body, and then blossoms with flavors of dried fruits, corn husks, and more milk chocolate sweetness. A very warming and satisfying dram.

Glen – 91

By far the best Mannochmore more I’ve had and a must buy. My co-taster and I where thoroughly surprised and impressed with this big tough malt. Very complex with wonderful flavors constantly jumping out at you. This dram had an intense nose but once you got past the sharpness, you’re hit with waves of milk chocolate, vanilla and nougat.

Nose: Initially very strong, grassy and sharp, gives way to milk chocolate, vanilla, nougat and malt
Body: Chewy and hot
Finish: Medium length and the chocolate comes back, dried fruit, warming

Highly recommended.

Mannochmore 12 (Flora Fauna)

Glen – 80

A nice whisky that had an impressive lingering finish. The Flora Fauna range is one of our favorites and It’s a crime that they aren’t available in the US. This dram had a very light nose, a medium body, but a nice flavorful finish saves the day. Not the best Mannochmore I’ve had but a respectable dram all in all.

Nose: Light, not very aromatic, some malt
Body: Medium
Finish: Sharp, medium length, lingering

This one’s all in the finish.
